Booster
The Morrison Audio Equipment Booster has a multitude
of uses, use it to push a bit more signal into your amp for a light overdrive,
boost your signal for lead work, or use it as a boost through long effects
chains and leads where signal loss and degradation is ocurring. You could
even use it to adjust between two different guitars with different outputs,
without having to play with your amp settings.
Review from Mat
The Booster pedal by Morrison Audio Equipment is a well constructed device that produces an interesting take on volume dynamics and gain structure.
Tone junkies and boutique heads should check this cool thing out.
It possesses a comfortable range that starts out giving your amp a lot more breathing space and that extra “thump” you’ve been looking for.
When cranked all the way up, something akin to heavy space distortion is produced, if you are already combing it with other distortion techniques. The natural gain from this pedal will spice up your gear.
It’s particularly good for highlighting passages of guitar playing; the dynamic sound of the pedal gives rise to a natural, human like tone when used in this way. It definitely has a personal sound of its own.
This pedal can be used in a variety of ways.
The pedal could easily sit anywhere in your setup from
the EQ and compressor sections to the distortion aisle or somewhere at the
end after the chorus and delays. It just depends on what you want it to do.
It could be combined with other pedals to flush out more of a response from
a weaker distortion pedal or used just as a clean volume conditioner with
a variable gain if needed. It’s up to the individuals’ creativity
as to which application best suits them.
The build quality of this device is at a high level; very neat on the inside and quite tasty on the out. This pedal looks cool and feels nice to the touch. It has a bright blue LED and a good, hard wearing white paint finish. It has one single gain control and a decent footswitch.
The pedal is like having an extra amp with good, natural
gain characteristics in your setup.
It is also good for “cooking” up your playing if you want to cut
through or want to experiment with volume or giving your other pedals a bit
of a sonic seeing too.
Feedback
I recieved my Morrison Audio Booster in the post yesterday.
I have played some exceptional pedal boards all of which are sporting top
shelf pedals with boosters with an RRP of around $250. When speaking to a
friend about good yet affordable gear, he told me about Morrison Audio. Knowing
he has great knoledge about great gear I took his word for it and purchased
a Booster from this website. Looking back on what I was willing to pay it
always makes me laugh. This booster is amazing! The LED is the brightest on
my board and the pedal has an amazing reaction time with zero delay and adds
no unnecessary noise to my line. Simple, effective, and the nicest looking
pedal within my rig! Thanks Morrison Audio Equipement!
